Exciting Summer Fun: Kid-Approved Yas Island Activities

The long summer break your children have been so excited about is finally here. What’s a good way to kick it off?

Here’s an excellent idea: Come to Yas Island Abu Dhabi. The Yas Theme Parks and attractions offer loads of exciting things to do with kids in Abu Dhabi. A Yas Island Abu Dhabi summer trip is easy to plan, too, with our Kids Go Free summer fun package for families.

Yas Iland has four world-class theme parks, an adventure hub, beaches, a mall, an indoor arena, an outdoor arena, and a Formula 1 racetrack. All these things should give you plenty of ideas about fun children’s activities in Abu Dhabi that you and your family can try.

For our part, we suggest doing the following three things when you visit Yas Island Abu Dhabi.

1.Experience all four theme parks.

These are the four theme parks in Yas Island:

• Ferrari World Yas Island Abu Dhabi

• Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

• Yas Waterworld Yas Island Abu Dhabi 

• SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi

On the Kids Go Free package, your children can get unlimited access to these parks.

Note that the level of access will differ according to your booked hotel. Some Yas Island hotels come with free unlimited theme park access, while some give access to one theme park for every night of stay.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is for people who love speed and rollercoasters. Formula Rossa is a must-try; it is officially the fastest rollercoaster in the world.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi has WB-themed rides and will let you meet some of your favourite Warner Bros. television and movie characters. As this is an air-conditioned, fully indoor theme park (it is, in fact, the largest indoor theme park globally), this is one of the best free indoor activities for kids you can get with the Kids Go Free package.

Yas Waterworld, which sits on approximately 15 hectares of space, is a water park with more than 40 rides, slides and experiences. A few of them are made specifically for kids (e.g., Yehal, Tot’s Playground, and Cannon Point) and several more are for families to enjoy (e.g., Cinesplash, AMWAJ, Yadi Yas, Marah Fortress, Water Wars, and Al Raha River).

Finally, SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, the newest theme park in Yas Island, has the world’s largest aquarium. It has eight immersive realms and will let you meet marine animals from all over the world. Animal habitats have advanced animal lighting systems to simulate the daily and seasonal light cycles of the resident animals’ natural habitats.

2.Skydive, climb or do both at CLYMB Abu Dhabi.

CLYMB is a one-of-a-kind adventure hub that offers two activities: indoor skydiving and indoor wall climbing. While it’s true other places offer both activities, none does it quite like CLYMB.

CLYMB has the largest indoor skydiving chamber in the world. While typical indoor wind tunnels are 4.3 metres in diameter, CLYMB’s flight chamber is 9.7 metres wide and 32 metres high, making the latter the world’s widest and tallest flight chamber. Its size requires 16 fans, four times the fan count of standard indoor skydiving vertical wind tunnels.

Additionally, CLYMB has the tallest indoor climbing wall in the Middle East. The tallest wall, called The SUMMYT, is 42 metres high and should challenge even the most experienced climbers. There are four other walls suitable for people with varying experience levels:

• The Advanced (22 m)

• The Intermediate (10 m)

• The Beginner (5.5 m)

• The Boulder (3 m)

The good news is that children as young as three can experience skydiving, while four-year-olds can try wall climbing.

3.Kart, Drive or Ride at Yas Marina Circuit.

For adventure-loving families, Yas Marina Circuit is one of the best destinations with the most exhilarating things to do with kids in Abu Dhabi. While the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend is a long way away, being at the Yas Marina Circuit should still excite anyone who loves speeding cars and Formula 1 races.

You and your family can get in a rented race car and drive the circuit or ride as passengers and let a professional race car driver give you the full race experience. You and your children as young as five can also go karting at the YAS KARTZONE.
